Litecoin QR code generator

Getting paid in LTC starts with a Litecoin QR code: paste your wallet address and any LTC wallet can scan it. It only encodes the address you paste in - no amount, and nothing that could move coins on its own.

Editable codes are saved to a free account. Two are free to try.

Get paid in Litecoin from a scan

A Litecoin address is 26 to 43 characters - awkward to copy by hand onto a till or a printed sheet. This code skips that: a wallet's camera reads it and fills the address in on its own.

Three ways a Litecoin address can start

Copy the address from your wallet's own receive screen - whichever of the three it gives you pastes into this generator the same way.
Litecoin address formats by their first characters
Starts withTypeNotes
L...Legacy (P2PKH)The original format, Litecoin's counterpart to Bitcoin's addresses that start with 1.
M...SegWit, nested (P2SH)Litecoin picked M rather than Bitcoin's 3, specifically so the two coins' addresses are never mistaken for each other at a glance.
ltc1...Native SegWit (bech32)The newest, lowest-fee format, written entirely in lowercase.

What a Litecoin QR code actually stores

The code holds one short line: litecoin: followed by the address, nothing else. No amount, no label - the payer enters any amount inside their own wallet.

What this generator's Litecoin QR code stores
litecoin:LQRabbitDemoAddr3ssNotForRealUse9
  1. litecoin: the URI scheme an LTC wallet recognises as an instruction to open a send screen with this address ready.
  2. Address your receiving address, pasted as given - example address, not valid on purpose.
Check the address once it lands in a wallet, not only before you print the code - a single wrong character sends coins to someone else's address with no way to bring them back.

Check the code before it goes anywhere

  1. Copy the address

Take it straight from your wallet's own receive screen - not from a text message, a screenshot someone forwarded, or a note written down earlier.

  2. Paste it in

This generator builds the litecoin: link the moment you stop typing, with a preview you can check before you download anything.

  3. Scan it yourself

Open your own phone's camera and check the address it shows matches your wallet's address, character for character.

  4. Print or share it

Once it scans clean, it is ready for a till, an invoice, or a donation page.

Litecoin's own wallets are the final word on which address format they support; confirm with yours if in doubt.

LTC address QR code questions

No. This generator encodes only the address, as litecoin:address. Add an amount inside your own wallet if one invoice needs a fixed total.

Whichever your wallet already gives you on its receive screen - L, M and ltc1 addresses all work the same way once pasted in here.

No - the two run on separate networks. A Litecoin wallet will not read Bitcoin's own bitcoin: link, and a Bitcoin wallet will not read a litecoin: one. Use this generator's Litecoin code for LTC specifically.

No. Only the public address goes into the code - never a private key, seed phrase or password. Whichever of the three address types you paste, that is all the code holds.

The payment goes to whoever controls that address instead, and there is no way to reverse it. Check the address in your own wallet straight after scanning, not just before you print.
